NON-PROFITS
Small Business Development Centers are funded and designed to assist small business and are not authorized to assist non-profit organizations. However, we are providing the following Internet links to information on fundraising, management, starting a non-profit business, and other interests to non-profit information seekers. Volunteers are essential to any non-profit organization. Just less than half of the adult population volunteered an average of 3.6 hours per week in 2000.* The Independent Sector organization has placed an hourly value on the time volunteered, which has risen from $15.40 to $16.05 in 2001, based on the average hourly earnings for private nonagricultural workers (BLS), plus 12% for estimated fringe benefits.*
